AF Stat Policy Advisor Senator Bill Frist, MD discusses
the AF Stat initiative Senator Bill Frist, M.D. | AF
Stat Health Policy Advisor
Senator Bill
Frist, MD, AF Stat's Health Policy Advisor, informs the working group
that the aging of America demands a fundamental shift in how we approach prevention
and management of age-related chronic diseases including AFib.
Jerry West, 14-time All Star basketball player and former General Manager of the
LA Lakers has been battling atrial fibrillation (AFib) for over 30 years and is
keenly aware of what it means to live with this debilitating disease.
"I'd never even heard of AFib," says Mr. West, "And I've always had access to the
very best medical care. It's like this condition was some sort of hidden secret
that people either didn't understand or didn't discuss. Meanwhile, I was walking
around feeling like there was a ticking time bomb in my chest." Read full patient profile
